FAQ’S

Day trips are 850,000 IDR per person including transport, lunch & gear hire. This fee goes directly to the shark fishing crew as alternative income.
-
We use PayPal to securely process payments, but you can still pay with your credit or debit card, no PayPal account required. Just click the donation button, then select “Pay with a Card” or “Checkout as Guest” at the bottom of the PayPal login page. It’s safe, quick, and helps support our work directly!
-
We have two options for making a booking.
1. First you can simply head into our shop location in Kuta, Lombok and our employees in our
shop will help with creating a booking with your choice of day and number of people.
2. The second option is to book with us online, simply by visiting our website we have a
booking page that allows you to select your own day and make payment directly that way!
-
When booking in-store we will ask that you either make a deposit to hold your spot, and on the
day of the trip you can pay for the rest of the amount owed. And/or you can pay for the full
amount that day you make your booking.
When booking online the full payment will be due in order to make your booking.
-
Our trip will be run by the project manager or interns & your boat crew will be 100% shark fishermen.
-
Deposits that are made in store only, are non-refundable unless we cancel on you. This deposit
ensures that you and your group show up on the appropriate date and time. If any
circumstances happen on your end, the deposit will be non-refundable. However, if you made
a full payment, we will refund the remaining amount minus the deposit amount.
Online bookings will be subject to no refunds unless we cancel. The full payment will be due
upon making your booking online, and that full payment is non-refundable unless we cancel for
whatever reason. We ask guests to be sure of the dates you're selecting when booking online,
as you will not have the option to change your dates once booked.
-
In store, if a refund is being issued we will ask you to return to our shop location to either
refund your card used for purchase or return the cash used for purchase of our day trips.
Again, refunds only will be accepted when we are the one’s to cancel on you.
Online, if we cancel your trip, a refund will immediately be issued to the card used for purchase
(please allow for 5-7 business days to see the refund appear on your online banking). However,
if you need to cancel for any reason, a refund will not be issued.
-
Trips do run everyday, apart from Fridays. However, trips also can only run if we have a
minimum of 4 people booked onto the trip. So if you come in to book a trip on a day that has
no bookings, we can sign you up and wait to see if more people will book. If no one else signs
up, we can give you several options, you can choose to hold off until we have people bookonto a future date. Move to a day where people are already booked on, or pay the remaining
amount to “fill the trip”. For example, if you are a group of 2 and there aren’t more people
booking on at that time, you can pay the costs of 2 more people and we can run the trip with
just the two of you.
-
You will be refunded the amount paid, whether it was the full amount or just the deposit.
-
When regarding tips, our crew had asked us if they could make a tip box, which is now kept
inside our shop, and allow guests to tip them with that box and at the end of the month we can
ensure everyone is tipped evenly.
So rather than tip one crew member, we ask that you wait till you arrive back to our shop and
use the tip box to tip our crew!
-
We ask that our guests are 18+

We run snorkel trips and sunset trips that give shark fishermen an alternative income and
alternative line of work. During our trips we travel, by car, one hour to east lombok to jump onto
our shark fishing boats, and from there we take off to our first of two snorkel spots which is
about 25/30 minutes from our port. Our day is spent from 7am till 3pm, this includes our travel,
and we visit two stunning snorkel spots with beautiful and healthy reefs. We get lucky at our
first location, as we’ve discovered that some local black tip reef sharks have begun to make
the area their home for the last 2 years now. At our second location for snorkelling, we also
take the opportunity to talk a lot more in-depth with guests about our project. It’s an
opportunity to learn about our mission, history, achievements, challenges, and overall what we
have accomplished up until now. Not to mention, you get to meet our lovely crew of shark
fishermen who take care of you the entire day!
Similar to our day trips, our sunset trips our the newest addition to alternative work for our
shark fishermen. On these trips, you get to enjoy a nice boat ride to one of our beautiful snorkel
locations where we can swim, snorkel, hangout on the boats, hear our project talk, and enjoy
sunset with our shark fishermen! This trip runs from 2/3pm till 7/8pm.
-
Our day trips are strictly just snorkelling! However, very few times of the year we also run week
long trips that allow guests to learn how to free dive with professionals from around the world.
To learn more about this, visit our week long trips option to learn when a trip like this is
happening next and/or join our mailing list! And to clarify, we do not run any trips related to
scuba diving.
-
We do! Luckily we have such an amazing crew of men that put your safety first at all times. Ifsome days the waters seem too rough, we will advise those who aren’t strong swimmers or
who are learning to snorkel, to stay close to our paddle board that often comes out on our
snorkel with us, and/or wait to get in the water at our second location where it’s often much
more clam.
-
The price of our trips includes everything! For day trips; transportation to and from our port,
drinks, snacks, lunch cooked by our crew, and all necessary snorkel gear.
The price of our sunset trips also includes everything, similar to our day trips; transportation to
and from our port, drinks, sunset snacks, and all necessary snorkel gear.
-
On our boats we have fresh water, coffee, and tea being offered regularly. While we also offer a
vegetarian friendly lunch, along with vegetarian friendly snacks. However, all in the form of
traditional Indonesian food. For those who are vegan, or preferably don’t enjoy Indonesian
food, we suggest bringing some food or snacks of your own.
-
With our day trips starting at 7am and our sunset trips starting at 2/3pm, we ask guests to
please arrive to our shop location, in Kuta, Lombok, 15 minutes before we leave. We do not
arrange any pick ups at accommodations.
We ask guests to arrive 15 minutes before departure to sign waivers and make any final
payments that might be due.
-
Although we do our best to provide most things for our guests, we do have a small list of
things you should bring for yourself!
- Towels
- Reusable water bottle (we can fill these at our shop before leaving and also on our boats)
- Sunscreen (reef friendly)
- Rash guards (we sometimes experience some annoying jellies)
- Personal snacks (incase you prefer not to eat Indonesian food)
- We also ask that you are already wearing your swim suits, as there is no where to change
once we are on the boats.
-
Our entire crew is muslim, so we always take into consideration the best practices while we’re
around them and their surrounding communities. We ask that while our guests are on our trips,
that when arriving to our boats to stay covered up by keeping our shirts and shorts on. This is
so that we are respecting the community that we work closely with in the area. Once we are on
the boats, and about 5 minutes out from our port, everyone is free to relax in their bathing suits
and soak up the sun for the remainder of the day. And again, when we arrive back to our port,
we ask our guests to cover up until we are back in our vehicles and heading back for the day.
