Spend a week on the frontlines of ocean conservation with Project Hiu in the most immersive experience available.
Over seven days, you’ll dive into crystal-clear Indonesian waters, live with shark fishermen & see the heart of Indonesias shark fin trade. But this trip isn’t just about the dives – it’s about transformation. You’ll work directly with local communities who once relied on shark fishing, supporting their transition into sustainable livelihoods like tourism, crafts, and ocean education.
Each day is a mix of ocean adventures & shark conservation. Along the way, you’ll witness firsthand how your presence contributes to protecting sharks, empowering families, and reshaping futures.

We reccomend flying to Bali international airport (DPS) as it is a major airport, from there it’s a simple trip over to LOP or Lombok International airport which is 30 minutes drive from our base.
Live like a shark fisherman with daily trips on the very boats used to fish sharks, repurposed in tourism. Designed for the ultimate experience of our project and those serious about shark conservation, the week trips we run give you a deeper involvement in conservation through visits to the shark market & island where the fishermen live. You’ll be responsible for two boats and their crew deviating from fishing, saving more than 60 sharks, whilst exploring the waters that surround their islands.
