We travel to witness sharks being brought into one of the largest shark markets in Indonesia to be processed and sold for their fins. We will get the chance to observe and document catch being brought in from all areas of surrounding oceans & witness the fin drying process.

Spend a week on the frontlines of ocean conservation with Project Hiu in the most immersive experience available.
Over seven days, you’ll dive into crystal-clear Indonesian waters, live with shark fishermen & see the heart of Indonesias shark fin trade. You’ll work directly with local communities who once relied on shark fishing, supporting their transition into sustainable livelihoods like tourism, crafts, and ocean education.
Each day is a mix of ocean adventures & shark conservation. Along the way, you’ll witness firsthand how your presence contributes to protecting sharks, empowering families, and reshaping futures.
This isn’t just a trip, it’s a chance to be part of something bigger. To leave with memories, friendships, and the knowledge that you’ve made a tangible difference. It’s also a donation, we your fee will repurpose two shark fishing boats.

Do I need to be vaccinated? We do not require it but Indonesia has strict rules on entering the country. Please review them before booking.
What visa do I need? Depending on what country you are coming from, a simple VOA (visa on arrival), will be sufficient for one of our trips. This gives you 30 days in Indonesia & can be extended if you wish to stay longer. Please check to see if your country is on the list for a VOA.
Where will we be based? We will be based in the town of Kuta on the Island of Lombok, Lombok is a 40 minute flight East of Bali.
Where will I need to book my flights to? Your flights will need to be booked to Lombok airport, airport code LOP. We recommend flying into the major airport of Denpasar in Bali & booking a domestic flight to Lombok with plenty time in-between to clear immigration & customs.
