Our on the ground manager and intern team have been monitoring the market closely to observe the catch of the boats we work with.

We leave reassured that we have a large Impact with out work. The boats that we hire in tourism still fish in the months we cannot hire them and their catches are large and devastating. It shows us just the impact we can have when we hire them for one month.

Each boat we hire can save up to 100 sharks. Conveying the importance of donations to our donors is a huge part of the reason we document this and also to scout for new boats that could work with us in the future.

Our team will begin today developing some sort of incentive to have boats stay inshore in the months before they are hired in tourism, preventing them from fishing even in months that they aren't receiving an income from Project Hiu.
