Small Kits. Big Change.

We’ve always believed that empowering a community starts with supporting the women at the heart of it. This week, Project Hiu partnered with Days for Girls to deliver reusable, washable period kits to the wives of the fishermen we work with in Lombok. These kits provide long-term dignity, comfort and freedom and it’s one more way your support directly strengthens the families behind our conservation mission.

Women on the island currently rip up their pads and throw them into their toilets or directly into the ocean after use… Days for Girls kits are reusable, sustainable feminine hygiene kits that provide girls with washable pads, underwear, and other supplies to manage menstruation. Each kit includes a waterproof shield, absorbent liners, underwear, a washcloth, soap, and bags for clean and soiled items!

We’d like to supply the entire school’s female students with a kit along with presentations on vital menstruation education to support attendance, empowerment & the environment…
